Roger began locksmithing in 1993 and has had a successful career working for several locksmiths in the Chicagoland area before founding Aslan Security Locksmithing. He is an Illinois Certified Security Enforcement Officer, a member of the Faith Based Security Network, a fully licensed locksmith in the State of Illinois (License #191.000932), and was awarded the designation of a Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL), by the ALOA, Associated Locksmiths of America, Security Professionals Association, Inc.
The CRL credential provides an objective measure of an individual's knowledge and competency in locksmithing and physical security. Throughout the world, it is the locksmith profession's highest recognition of practitioners.
In order to earn this credential, Roger had to comply with stringent eligibility requirements. This includes his ability to demonstrate that he had met certain education and work experience qualifications through ALOA. He then had to pass a comprehensive examination that tested his knowledge and skills in major areas of locksmithing and physical security.
In order to maintain this credential, Roger must apply for recertification every three years, at which time he must submit evidence of continuing professional development. This requirement is instituted in order to maintain proficiency and credibility.
The ALOA Proficiency Registration Program (PRP) was introduced in 1985, and Roger is one of privileged few that have earned this level and recognize its value. The Proficiency Registration Program (PRP) of ALOA is charged with improving the practice of locksmithing through the testing and certification of security professionals who have met prescribed standards of performance, knowledge, and conduct.
The Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) is the largest international organization for locksmiths and physical security professionals, representing more than 10,000 locksmiths worldwide.
